Youth Non-Contact Rugby Laws

Non-contact laws as played by San Clemente "Gators" Youth Rugby

The Laws that we play rugby by are modified IRB rugby Laws that have been adapted to suit youth rugby. We firmly believe that youth rugby standards need to be higher than adult rugby in respect to sportsmanship and discipline.

The premise of the game is to advance the ball towards the opponent's goal line and score a try by putting the ball on the ground within their in-goal area.  HOWEVER there is no blocking in rugby and no passing of the ball forward (toward the opponent's goal line).  You can only tag the player with the ball and a tag is with two hands.  Teams have five tags before possession is turned over to the other team. Simple!
