U 8 Head Coach Ian 'Ibbo' Ibbetson

Ibbo began playing rugby when I was about 8 years old for Kingsbridge RFC, in Devon, England. Up to the age of 18 he played for Kingsbridge RFC, Salcombe RFC, Kingsbridge School and Plymouth Albion RFC, and also played for his county and made it to the quarter finals of the Daily Mail National Cup. He went on to play for Queen Mary and Westfield College in London and Leeds University and later returned to Kingsbridge RFC. After a knee injury he decided to coach Snowboarding for 6 years in Maine and Mammoth, CA and from there made it down to San Clemente were he began coaching for San Clemente U14 in 2007. 2 years ago he helped begin the U16 program and this year he will get the U18 program running giving San Clemente high caliber coaching from U8 to U18. Ibbo coached the Dana Hills High School team in 2015 and the USC Women’s rugby team in 2016. He is a level 200 coach and certified referee. “Rugby has given me many opportunities and many great memories and I am excited to share my knowledge and help grow the sport. “

U 18 Head Coach Peter Burberry

Born in England, Peter started playing rugby aged 10 as a fly half. Having played school 1st XV he then went to Loughborough University. Being the top sports university in the country, he got to play with and against many future internationals at both XV and 7 a side. After University he played Divisional Club and Senior County rugby in both England and Ireland, before also becoming a qualified RFU coach. One claim to fame is that he coached the team that once held the record for points scored in a league match. Having relocated to San Clemente 3 years ago and hung up his playing boots, he is keen to share his experience and knowledge through coaching, with an understanding that  other than the fitness that playing rugby brings, you learn key life skills such as discipline, respect and teamwork
